“Chief Minister should break his silence, let the government make a clear announcement of immediate construction of mosque at the same place” – Maulana Hamid Mohammad Khan Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Telangana.
Maulana Hamid Mohammad Khan, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Telangana, in a statement issued to newspapers, urged the state government to formally announce the reconstruction of Hashmi Mosque and Masjid Daftar-e-Mutamdi in the Secretariat premises. Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao should break his silence on this issue and immediately announce the reconstruction of the Secretariat’s martyred mosques on the same site. The Chief Minister termed the martyrdom of these two mosques and the demolition of a temple as an accident and made a failed political attempt to reduce the seriousness of the incident. In this regard, his verbal regret and verbal promise to build on the same site at the expense of the government is nothing more than a political statement and it is of no importance to Muslims.
Maulana Hamid Mohammad Khan said that in the new Secretariat map no mention has been made of these mosques and temples. Despite the demands of all Muslim organizations and Ulema-e-Mashaikhs, the state government has not given any clear assurances to rectify this tragic incident. Muslims are in state of severe trauma and this trauma will only get deeper with time. Mr. Hamid Mohammad Khan said that it should be clear to the government that the land on which the mosque is built remains a mosque till day of judgment (Qayamat). It cannot be moved to any place and no land can be a substitute for it. Neither the Waqf Board nor the Muslims have the authority to give it. He demanded that in view of the sentiments and feelings of Muslims and the sanctity and importance of mosques, the state government should immediately announce the construction of mosques at the same place at its own expense and restore its declining reputation among the people.
At the same time, these mosques should be identified at the same place in the map of the new secretariat building. This solution will also be a symbol of the survival of the traditional religious tolerance of the state of Telangana and the secular policy of the government. Maulana Hamid Mohammad Khan said that if the government fails in this decision then the people will have no choice but to protest by adopting democratic and constitutional methods.
