“Chief Minister should break his silence, let the government make a clear announcement of immediate construction of mosque at the same place” – Maulana Hamid Mohammad Khan Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Telangana.

Maulana Hamid Mohammad Khan, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Telangana, in a statement issued to newspapers, urged the state government to formally announce the reconstruction of Hashmi Mosque and Masjid Daftar-e-Mutamdi in the Secretariat premises. Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao should break his silence on this issue and immediately announce the reconstruction of the Secretariat’s martyred mosques on the same site. The Chief Minister termed the martyrdom of these two mosques and the demolition of a temple as an accident and made a failed political attempt to reduce the seriousness of the incident. In this regard, his verbal regret and verbal promise to build on the same site at the expense of the government is nothing more than a political statement and it is of no importance to Muslims.

Maulana Hamid Mohammad Khan said that in the new Secretariat map no mention has been made of these mosques and temples. Despite the demands of all Muslim organizations and Ulema-e-Mashaikhs, the state government has not given any clear assurances to rectify this tragic incident. Muslims are in state of severe trauma and this trauma will only get deeper with time. Mr. Hamid Mohammad Khan said that it should be clear to the government that the land on which the mosque is built remains a mosque till day of judgment (Qayamat). It cannot be moved to any place and no land can be a substitute for it. Neither the Waqf Board nor the Muslims have the authority to give it. He demanded that in view of the sentiments and feelings of Muslims and the sanctity and importance of mosques, the state government should immediately announce the construction of mosques at the same place at its own expense and restore its declining reputation among the people.

At the same time, these mosques should be identified at the same place in the map of the new secretariat building. This solution will also be a symbol of the survival of the traditional religious tolerance of the state of Telangana and the secular policy of the government. Maulana Hamid Mohammad Khan said that if the government fails in this decision then the people will have no choice but to protest by adopting democratic and constitutional methods.

JIH Telangana Chief Maulana Hamid Mohammed Khan’s appeal to Government and Muslims on Eid Al-Azha

PRESS NOTE

Qurbani” – the animal sacrifice at the eve of Baqrid (Eid Al-Azha) is the tradition of prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him). Last prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) followed the same tradition of Qurbani and emphasized and ordered His followers to follow the same. It is not merely a ceremony. Prophet Muhammad said that in the days of Qurbani God does not like anything more than the act of Qurbani. Which is why Muslims must try their best to perform Qurbani. Charity or any other good work cannot compensate the act of Qurbani. Those people who could afford to and upon whom it is mandatory to do Qurbani, and who could not do it due to Government ban or pressure, must ensure they do it at some other place where it is easy to do so. If that is also not possible, they should donate the equal amount of money to the needy after the days of Qurbani are over.

Muslims must obey the commandments of Islam by being well within the limits of the law and order of the land. Slaughtering of banned animals must not happen. Amid the worsening pandemic situation, they must adhere to the all-precautionary measures. Please do not perform Qurbani on the roads and public pathways. Especial concentration must be towards maintaining cleanliness. Blood, excreta, and unwanted material must be either buried or sent to the allocated dump yards. It will be appropriate if at every locality, there be formed committees to keep an eye on the affairs of Qurbani which would keep regular contact with local authorities and extend their help in maintaining peace and law & order. Maulana Hamid Muhammad Khan appealed to the state and central governments that as Qurbani is such an important obligation on Muslims, they must be given protection from evil doers and every possible comfort. He is hopeful that Muslims would perform Qurbani with utmost care and precautions. He prayed to God that we all live life as prescribed by God.
