Strong condemnation of the ongoing violence and barbarism in Manipur, urging the government to restore the atmosphere of peace
In the wake of the ongoing horrific violence in Manipur, Amir-e-Halqa Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Telangana, Dr. Muhammad Khalid Mubashir uz-Zafar, expressed deep concern and strong condemnation. In his press statement, he said that for the past three months, Manipur has been engulfed in the grip of violent extremism, sectarian and religious extremism. The small state in North-East is being held captive under the control of radical forces.
The state and central governments have failed miserably in resolving this issue, and it appears that some powerful political elements are harboring and supporting these violent militant groups. The atmosphere of hatred and enmity has eliminated the importance of human life and dignity. Religious and sectarian frenzy is shaming humanity. The incidents of arson, loot, murder, and violence against innocent women are alarming.
Amir-e-Halqa Dr. Muhammad Khalid Mubashir uz-Zafar stated that Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Telangana, strongly condemns these incidents, and appeals to the Indian government to take all necessary measures to control the ongoing terrorism in Manipur and restore peace in the state. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind also demands from the Telangana government to make every possible effort to protect our state from this curse of sectarian hatred and take strict action against malicious elements, subjecting them to the rule of law.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Telangana, urges all social, religious, and human rights organizations to unite and make collective efforts to strengthen the atmosphere of unity and brotherhood at the societal level. They should exert pressure on the government not to allow the nation to suffer the loss of peace and security for the sake of petty political gains. Amir-e-Halqa emphasized that oppressors and enemies of peace should be brought to justice, and the safety of lives, property, honor, and dignity of the people should be ensured.
